With funding from a FEMA Grant ($86,000) along with a $9,000.00 from our Fire Board we had the old 785 refurbished by United Fire Apparatus in Cridersville, OH. The new chassis is a 2005 Sterling Acterra. It is automatic and can carry three personnel. We now have air electric dump capabilities, a back-up camera and have added cross lays to be used for fire attach or for protection. There is additional SCBA storage, improved lighting and an up-graded pump to 500 GPM. We kept the 2000 gallon stainless steel tank from the old apparatus.
CJFD Fire Safety House- purchased used in December of 2010 and re-furburished in summer of 2011
The Fire Safety Trailer consists of a kitchen, living room
with fire place and a bedroom with sliding doors and a fire escape ladder. The
unit can be "smoked" to simulate a fire and children can crawl out from the
living room or climb down the ladder from the upstairs bedroom. There are remote
cameras for each room and an outside TV for parents to watch their children. In
addition this is an enhanced trailer with a complete weather training
system in it. It has a weather alert and a computerized system that simulates
Tornados and thunder storm and lightening via strobes placed in the living room. |
